As someone who has spent a chunk of my career working with folks who are homeless or people with mental health issues and therefore came across methadone users quite a bit, I found this read really interesting. I've just asked my medics and they say their preference is ketamine but that methadone is great for some neuropathy pain that others things don't touch as well. But that when they do, the barrier to using methadone is often, isn't that what drug addicts use?? (I'm working at a hospice in Scotland!)
